Hotel needed Family of 5 in Osaka in July

planning to be in Osaka in July (15 - 21). Coming in from Shinkansen from Tokyo, and need to get back to catch our flight. Planning to visit Universal Studios for 2 days, the castle, Dotonburi and Shinsaibahi. looking for reasonable accommodation for the 5 of us (2 adults, kids, 13, 13, 10), may need 2 rooms, that is fine, but need connecting rooms. Most hotel sites in Osaka seem to be in Japanese! :( would appreciate recommendation on what to book for these dates, and appreciate pointer to website if possible.

Also, i read that July 18 is a "marine day" a public holiday? is that a big holiday in Osaka? (ie. should i avoid Universal Studios on that weekend?)

"Connecting room" is not so common in Japan. However, you can check availability via Trivago.

Or if your dates are already fixed, you might better contact with a travel agency such as JTB and ask them arrange your stay in Osaka. You might consider Japanese style room where all of you can sleep in a (or connecting) tatami room.
