How to Suimeikan-Karukaya from Nikko

I will be staying in the onsen in may and I was wondering if it was possible to even get from nikko to there on the same day.
anyone knows?

using Tohoku shinkansen and Hokuriku shinkansen transferring at Omiya, you will arrive Matsumoto at 11:52. You can catch 12:05 bus to Hirayu arriving at 13:35. Then take bus departing Hirayu at 13:38. You will arrive Karukaya at 14:05.

The train timetable for May seems to be more inconvenient for this trip, since at present (Feb), 8:10 start is enough to reach Matsumoto for 12:05 bus.
