Using NEX to Higashi Shinjuku station

Hi everyone, Can someone help me with some advice on how to get to Higashi Shinjuku using NEX?
I intend to use NEX until the main Shinjuku station, then get off and transfer to another train to Higashi Shinjuku. It will be around 10pm when I arrive at Higashi station. I am a first timer to Japan though, so am unfamiliar how far are the platforms. Travelling with me are 4 adults (include 1 old lady 75yo) and 2 children (8yo and 4yo) with accompanying heavy luggage.
Any advice on this is much appreciated. Thank you.

Honestly with that many people and luggage I'd take the airport shuttle bus to your hotel or to another hotel that is close to your hotel.
But, if you really want to take the N'Ex when you get off at Shinjuku station (which is a JR station) you will have go to the Tokyo Metro Shinjuku station. Tokyo Metro is a separate company from JR. They are attached but you'll be exiting the JR station and entering the Tokyo Metro station meaning you will then have to pay the Tokyo Metro fare.
From Shinjuku you want the Marunouchi line. You will then get off at Shinjuku-Sanchome (the first station after Shinjuku) and then transfer to the Fukutoshin line and get off at Higashi-Shinjuku (the first station after Shinjuku-Sanchome).
Another option would be to exit the N'Ex at Shinjuku and then walk to Shinjuku-Nishiguchi Station on the Toei Subway (again a separate company from JR) and take the Oedo line one station to Higashi-Shinjuku staton.
Yet another option (the best of the worst if you insist on taking the train) would be to take the N'Ex to Shibuya instead of Shinjuku and then exit JR Shibuya station and walk over to the Tokyo Metro Shibuya station. Then take the Fukutoshin line four stations to Higashi-Shinjuku station.

Many thanks for the advice from the both of you who posted a reply.
I have not booked the tickets for NEX yet. From the replies, I gather its far better NOT to use NEX to get to Higashi-Shinjuku.
What is the best advice to get to Highashi-Shinjuku with the crowd and accompanying luggage that I have? Note that I am arriving Narita at 1900hrs. By the time I get through customs, I think it will be 2000hrs? Are the limo buses or shuttles still operational at that hour?
Is the Skyliner the best option?
Thanks, TOMMY

Take Skyliner then (subway)Oedo-line faster than NEX about 30min.
If you are going to mention this option then you really should mention that it requires a walk of about 5 city blocks (10 minutes or more) from one station (Keisei-Ueno) to another station (Ueno-Okachimachi) to transfer to the Toei Subway.

Where is your hotel, exactly? If there is a limo bus which goes directly there, or very close, you can take that. Otherwise, it doesn't really make sense: if you have to do some walking or take a connecting train anyway, you might as well take the N'EX, which costs about the same and is faster.

My destination is not a hotel. Its an apartment which I booked through Airbnb located at 1 Chome Okubo, Shinjuku-ku. Was told its 3mins walking from Higashi-Shinjuku.

With an elderly person, small children, and luggage in tow I would strongly suggest taking the NEX to Shinjuku and then two taxis direct to your airbnb. That will be the smoothest route and only marginally more expensive than other options mentioned. Otherwise you are looking at several hundred meters or more of walking transfers between stations.

I would take Limousine bus. Narita Airport T3 2035 Narita Airport T2 2040 Narita Airport South T1 2045 Narita Airport North T1 2050 Shinjuku Station West Exit 2220 Then take a Taxi for the 1.7km ride to your AirBnb. Just note to have your addresses ready for the Taxi driver and if they don't know that address, maybe have a alternative address like a school or something near by. http://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/platform_searches/index/2/212Hope this helps!! Have Fun!!

I would take the N'EX, which costs only 100-300 yen more but is faster and more comfortable (and doesn't get stuck in traffic). You should be good for the 19:44 departure.
