Which are likely to snow in Dec?

Just booked my tickets to TYO for 3 to 17 Dec. Can someone advise, which are will I be likely to encounter snow, Hokkaido or Takayama area?
I am thinking to take domestic flights to either places, but hoping not to drive when there, if possible, if there will be snowfall(atho i love driving during vacation!). So will be taking public transports, to reach places that snow.
Or is there area near TYO that snows? Really hope we can finally see some snow during this holiday.
