I will be in tokyo. On 11 th aug I would like to buy 3 tickets reserved seat one way from shinagawa to kyoto. I don't need a japan rail pass or any other pass. Can I book online the tickets?Or where is the ticket office?
I have read of ticket vending machine but not for big travels. I would like to buy the ticket now or 1 week before.

You can only book online in Japanese, after a registration process which requires a Japanese address and phone number. If you're not prepared to do that, you'll have to wait until you are in Japan.
