Twinkle Bus Biei 2016/5/30 22:47
Hi, need advice whether we can use Twinkle Bus Biei? it is quite confusing as from the brochure, it is stated that the bus is JR Users exclusive Bus (we have 7 days Japan Rail Pass) and that bus fare is necessary if you are a Japan Rail Pass or Hokkaido Rail Pass Holder but there is also a disclosure saying: only persons with a JR Hokkaido train ticket can use the bus.

Thank you.

Booking until 2 days before at major JR Hokkaido stn ticket office.
But if not be full re-sale on the day
at only Biei Tourist infomation center/観光案内所
in 四季の情報館 building out of JR Biei stn.(1 min walk to left)

Basically "Yes" if be in Hokkaido until 2 days in advance.
(no online booking by web form/e-mail)
But if already booking full you have to change plan or wait cancel(s).
Seems bus seat numbers 2+2 type around 45 total.

JR Hokkaido ticket office list with open hours: (use google translate)

新千歳空港(Shin-Chitose) is "New Chitose" airport (CTS).
新 means "new" no different meanings but,
EN name using different reading. (very rare case)

Also if in out of Hokkaido(as in Japan "main land" or) until 5 days in advance
you can book by call to "ツインクルデスク/Twincle desk".
(JR Hokkaido's tellephone operator)

(No accept by int'l call "81+")

Re: Twinkle Bus Biei 2016/6/2 01:45
Thanks a lot tllah. This is indeed very helpfull. I assume the twinkle bus look like in the picture you send and it is the only bus? If not, I might not able to find it as the sign is in Japanese. How to say twinkle bus in japanese? If I were to ask people in the station?

Re: Twinkle Bus Biei 2016/6/2 23:18
Twinkle Bus is "ツインクルバス" same sound.
JR ticket office staff can speak EN well so no need speak Japanese for booking.
Airport(in/out CTS?) infomation desk staff, too no worry.
If still worried showing travel plan memo(handwriting)/web page printed/cellphone or PC screen/guide book/leaflet.

(note)
Don't forget "Biei/美瑛" with as tour bus route location.
BC different some same name "Twinkle Bus xxx" exist for other areas.

No need 号(gou) with.
This 号 means just numbering no important meanings.

But recommend study some basic letters/words/phrases.
