Hi,
I am planning to visit Kinosaki Onsen from Shin-Osaka. Understand JR Sanyo Sanin Area Pass does not cover to Kinosaki Onsen. May I know how much do I need to top up if I take Ltd Express Hamakaze (Pass should cover from Shin-Osaka to Hamasaka).
Thanks.

Nope, the pass only covers from Shin-Osaka to Himeji. After that you go northeastwards from Himeji on the Bantan line, and that's not covered. You need to pay 3,340 yen for unreserved seats.

If you want to minimise additional costs, you need to make a detour through Tottori, for example taking the Super Hakuto. Then you only need to pay 670 yen. On the other hand, the trip is one or two hours longer (depending on connection times).

Thanks Firas.
Appreciated your assistance and suggestion. Will replan my itinerary to save cost on the uncovered part.
