trains from Narita Airport to Tokyo 2016/6/3 00:16
Hi!

I am travelling to Japan next month and I am having trouble with the train from Narita airport to the city.

I was planning to take Access Express from Narita Airport so i can go down at Ginza station which is the best accessible way i found to my hotel in Roppongi.

I dont understand the pricing for the Access Express which is 1330+670 then if i use SUICA it's 1318 only. Why is there tax on the cash basis while on the SUICA they stated the fare only?

and can I use PASMO also for this route or they only accept SUICA for this route. Thanks!

First timer in Japan so I'm really confused.

The Keisei Line is Y1330 (Y670) to Higashi Ginza. the (Y670) is the 1-way fare for a child. Using a Suica or Pasmo card gets you a few yen off over buying a ticket at the vending machine.

As the poster above says, the amount in brackets is the child fare.
At Higashi-Ginza change to the Hibiya Line, and go 5 stops to Roppongi.

The Keisei Lines can be a little confusing. There are three major ones serving Narita Airport, all leaving from the same platforms in the basement of the Terminals.
1. Skyliner: This is the fastest, going from Narita Airport to Nippori, then on to Ueno, and finishing there.
2. Access Express: Going from Narita Airport to Nippori and Ueno, or branching off at Aoto, and going vis Oshiage, Asakusa, Asakusabashi,Higashi-Nihombashi, Ningyocho, Nihombashi, Higashi-Ginza, Shimbashi, Shinagawa and down to both Haneda International and Domestic.
3. Limited Express or Keisei Main Line, stops at a lot of stations , especially around Chiba area and then onto Nippori and Ueno.

If you are concerned as to what one to catch, just ask at the ticket
counter, or the station attendant. They will help.

Use HyperDia also Google MAP first. (Change dep date/time)

https://goo.gl/maps/zuoTbDt8JMJ2

Access Express and Narita Sky Express is same also right?
About 70% trains are so.(For HND mainly as "Narita Sky Express" via Ginza area after Aoto)
But left 30% are NOT. (For Keisei-Ueno after Aoto).

Higashi Ginza/東銀座 stn's "Higashi/東" means just "Eeat(E)".
So a bit off set from main street(Chuo dori/中央通り) but not so far by walk.
Also get off last stop(northern side) "Takaracho/宝町 stn" possible.

(Google Map top is N but this map top is E left is N)

(note)
Narita Sky Express(as direct/no transfaring train until Ginza area fo)
no operate early morning and after early evening.
And a lot of Narita Sky Express skip Takaracho and Higashi Ginza stn both.
(depends on dep time)

@LoveJapan

You're the one who's confused. There are two Keisei lines serving Narita airport: the Keisei Main Line is the older one and goes to Keisei-Ueno, and the newer Keisei Airport Line, which officially goes to Keisei-Takasago (although all trains then continue to Keisei-Ueno on the Keisei Main Line). The Airport Line is shorter, but the fare is more expensive (which makes for an easy way to distinguish the two).

Skyliner, Sky Access, etc. are the names of train services using one or the other or both lines. The Skyliner is "special" in that it requires additional fees, the others don't and are just regular commuter trains with are given fancy names for marketing purposes.

In practice, just use Hyperdia, and uncheck the "Liner" box if you want to eliminate the more expensive Skyliner.

Before calling someone confused. I would re read LoveJapan's response. At no point did he type "the lines." He typed "the ones." IF you understand the context of the response, then you would understand that he was referring to the train service on offer by Keisei, not the train lines.

Re: trains from Narita Airport to Tokyo 2016/6/4 06:43
Oops I should re read his response also. My apologies to Firas.

LoveJapan did say "lines." In the context of the WHOLE response though, I'm pretty sure he meant services instead of lines.

I know people have typos on these forums. And there is not a edit function to fix those typos. So continually attacking people of their responses when English is not their first language is not warranted or welcome. Try a little bit of understanding first.
