View of Fuji Mountain from Shinjuku Station 2016/6/5 03:29
My brother and his family (2 children age 6 and 3 year old) will travel to Japan on Jun 16th until Jun 23rd. He is wondering where will be the closest location to get the best view of Fuji Mountain from Shinjuku Station. Any advice? Thanks

I recommend the Shinjuku Government Buildings:

You have to be lucky in order to actually see Mount Fuji in June. Visibility is often not good enough.

You can see Mt Fuji from Shinjuku in June.
You can possibily see Mt Fuji from Tokyo Metropolitan Govt Bldg Observatory(admission free) between Dec and Feb while it fine and cold days.

This is the "probability" you can see Mt. Fuji from Shinjuku Government building.

I am sorry, but your chance to get the view in June is very scarce (1.1 days out of 30 days of June).

You can see live cameras for Fuji.

As you see, some cameras show Mt. Fuji clearly while some show only fog (of course, this situation may change).

At present it seems Mt. Fuji can be seen if there is no fog. I think this is quite rare in June. Back to your question, if you want to go by train, Kawaguchiko station should be appropriate.
