Travel and diving in the Izu peninsula 2016/7/21 00:02
I have three days/nights to spend in the area. I'll be arriving initially from Mt. Fuji, and leaving for Tokyo after those days. This will be around the middle of September (this year).

I'm looking for a quiet town that is not too touristy. Preferably somewhere that is navigable by foot. Also, it helps if the town is accessible (i.e. easy to get there by train/bus, easy to travel to places nearby).

The main activity I want to do is diving/snorkeling.
From what I was able to see, Shimoda is my best option, but I'm not too sure (other alternatives I saw were Atami and Ito). I'm primarily looking for recommendations regarding which town to stay in. If anyone can give me additional advice regarding diving/snorkeling in that area, or any other cool activities, that would also be greatly appreciated.
