Shinkansen during busiest day of Obon?

According to Japan-guide, the busiest days of travel during Obon this year will be August 11-13.
It just so happens that on the 13th, my partner and I will be taking the Shinkansen from Osaka to Tokyo. Google maps tells me to take it from Shin-Osaka Station to Shinagawa Station.
We will not be getting a JR pass so the Nozomi train will be available to us. We will be arriving in Japan on the 9th.
Should I be worried about not being able to reserve seats on that day because of Obon?

You should be fine; looking at seat availabilities now only a handful of trains are fully or almost fully booked.

Maybe? Be flexible with your time of travel. And book ahead as soon as you can.
