JR Tokyo Wide Pass 2016/8/14 21:02
Hello

I would like to travel from Ueno to Katsuta station because I will visit Hitachi seaside park. May I know the JR Tokyo Wide Pass cover this trip? I know Hitachi seaside park located in Ibaraki but I do not see Katsuta in JR Tokyo Wide Pass.

Thank you very much for your help!

Katsuta station is on the Joban line between Mito and Otsuko, so it is covered.

HI I am arriving to Tokyo on Sept 16 to Narita and need to travel to Shinjuku . On the 18th I have to go to Yokohama port.
Can I use JP wide pass for these destination and the cost would be 10000 Yen per person ? Is it possible to purchase this pass on line?

thanks

You'd be wasting money. Pay for the tickets individually.

If you aren't dragging a ton of stuff with you, the cheapest way in from Narita is the 1000 yen bus to Tokyo Stn.

From there, it's just 200 yen to Shinjuku.

The Tokyo Wide Pass for you wouldn't be worth it.

Yes, it is covered. I used the same pass a few months ago to visit the park.

Tokyo Wide Pass for first three days will easily pay off. On Day3 I recommend you to take Koumi line instead of Tokyo route. Koumi line is the highest train route in Japan.

You might better take highway bus to Shinjuku on Day 4 which should be somewhat cheaper.

As for Day 5 to Day 7, buy SUICA IC card. Basically this card will not save you money, but it should be very convenient.

It is, however, only marginally cheaper than a Keisei Main Line train to Nippori, which is 1,030 yen (1,025 with an IC card), so personally I would take the latter. Nippori to Shinjuku is also 200 yen (194 with an IC card).
