20 days in Japan

I arrive Narita Airport at 2.20 pm. I intend to fly to Sapporo for a 6 day tour in Hokkaido.
After the tour in Hokkaido, I intend to fly to Fukuoka and stay there for 3-4 days. I would like to travel Kyushu by train.
When I leave Kyushu, I intend to buy a 7-day rail pass and go to Hiroshima, and then Kyoto and Tokyo.
I would like to go to Kobe, Osaka, Nara. Should I stay mainly in the same hotels in Kyoto and Tokyo, or should I stay somewhere else in between.

Have you worked out whether a JR pass will actually be worth it? 7 day pass is 30,000. Hiroshima to Shin-Kobe then onward to Tokyo can't be more than 20,000.
Do your calculations on Hyperdia before ordering the pass.

A seven day rail pass would cover Hakata to Tokyo stations plus rail travel inbetween.
But how do you plan on getting around Kyushu? Train? You maybe need a 14 day pass.
