Ref. to the timetable for OKKbus from Osaka Itami airport to Kyoto K1 - http://www.okkbus.co.jp/en/timetable/itm/f_kyt.htmlIs the bus going to drop off the passengers (from the Osaka airport) at the same place where the bus will pick up passengers at Kyoto station to Airport (ie. in front of the KDD building)? Also, is there a need to make reservation for the bus from Kyoto to Itami on Friday afternoon on 9 December?

@ SeattleMick Itami means pain also? The answer is "Yes!/No!" both. Written by Hiragana(ひらがな)/Katakana(カタカナ) is same "いたみ/イタミ" but written by Kanji(漢字) meanings are different. OP bus Q's "伊丹(いたみ/Itami)" is "airport name" City name based. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itami_Airporthttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itami,_Hy%C5%8DgoName 伊丹 also using for other places(as location address), some Japanese "last name" also company name and more. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juzo_Itami(not so major as using numbers but most Japanese can read this kanji) Your Q "痛み(いたみ/itami)" means "pain" right. But also intonation a bit different. (no long/skipping tone but) Copy to input box below words together then ckick speaker button. http://voicetext.jp/---------------------- 伊丹空港、伊丹市 痛み、痛い、痛む ---------------------- 空港(くうこう/-kuukou) means airport. 市(し/-shi) means City(City of) in this case. 痛い/-i is "adj.". 痛む/-mu is "vb.". (speaker button) 通常版/ver. means "normal" sound file as data size. Micro版/ver. means lighter sound file.

thanks for the replies.
is it possible to buy the kyoto-itami bus ticket few days in advance - or the ticket can only be purchased for use on the same day only?

Yes, but there is not really any point in doing that, it's not going to give you priority access to the bus, you'll wait in line like everyone else (and if the bus is full, wait for the next one).
Most people probably don't buy tickets altogether and just use an IC card.

Yes, the ticket is valid for one day (you have to choose the validity day when you purchase it), and you can take any one bus on that day.
