I am taking my family to Japan on a 10 day trip in late October. We land in Tokyo. At the moment my itinerary is Day 1 Tokyo- City Day 2 Tokyo - Nikko Day 3 Travel to snow monkeys, leave late in the day to Takayama Day 4 Takayama Stay overnight Day 5 Travel to Kyoto - city Day 6 Kyoto - Nara day trip Day 7 Hiroshima 1/2 day then to Miyajima for night Day 8 Miyajima 1/2 day, head back to Osaka(or Kyoto) via Himeji Castle not sure whether to stay in Osaka or Kyoto or try to get to Hakone Day 9 Hakone back to Tokyo Day 10 Tokyo - Kamakura Can you please give me your input on whether this is a good way to do the trip or any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Far too busy. You're not spending enough time in any of the major cities (Tokyo, Kyoto, etc.) and are moving around very fast. Your trip will be far too rushed.

I agree. Possibly only Hiroshima may have been allocated an appropriate amount of time. Everything else is far from suitable.
