I'm going to tokyo from 3/3/16 to 7/3/16. Is it the right time to go visit snow monster Zao at Yamagata? Any activities during this period?

Hi Stella I was there on 05-06 March this year taking a group snowshoeing on Mt Zao for a couple of days, and we found the snow monsters in perfect conditions on the first day but really melting out on the afternoon of the second day. I think that was the last weekend that it was possible to see them this year. So your proposed dates could be okay if it's not too warm , but you might be safer to go a week or two earlier just in case. Have a great trip!
