Hi all,
this is my first time in japan, can you suggest Transportation from Kyoto to Kawaguchiko detour at Nakatsugawa or Nagiso for old post towns, Tsumago and Magome
which route should we take?Tsumago to Magome Or Magome to Tsumago? Ho long the route by walk?
if by bus still good / worth to visit it?

When will you travel?
Where do you plan to stay overnight?

You can visit Magome and Tsumago on your way from Kyoto to Kawaguchiko,
but it does not sound ideal to plan also to enjoy the Kawaguchiko lakeside on the same day.

You need
about 1 and a half to 2 hours to get from Kyoto to Nakatsugawa
and about 4 to 5 hours to get from Nagiso via Otsuki to Kawaguchiko,
including time on waiting when you change trains.

There are only infrequent connections
by bus between Magome and Tsumago
and by rail between Nagiso and Kawaguchiko.

that the trail should take two to three hours to complete at a leisurely pace.

For first timer, forget the Magome to Tsumago hike! It is worth neither the time, nor the effort.
