I've never been, but if reputation is anything to go by this is one of the best places to eat sushi in the world. Id recommend watching "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" http://www.magpictures.com/jirodreamsofsushi/It shows Jiro's strict work ethic and the effort he puts in to making the whole dining experience perfect and tailored to each person. I had a quick look at prices, as I was looking at possibly going next year, I seem to remember the figure 300... whether that £ or $ it was out of my price range for the budget of my trip. Im not sure which one obama went to, but Jiro runs one restaurant with one of his sons and the other restaurant is run by his other son. Its essential that you book in advance

\30,0000 for 30 minutes and then your're standing outside? Last time we splurged like that, we went to Nagano and stayed at the best rooms of the famous Seni Onsen Iwanoyu which is also very expensive but also very good and at least has you covered for 24 hours :-) http://monochrome.me.uk/news/seni-onsen-iwanoyu/

For most people, they're paying for the experience, as their palate won't be able to differentiate very good sushi and excellent sushi.
