What to do in Murodo in April?

I'd like to visit Alpin Route in late April, and I'm planning to start from Takayama. However, I'm not sure if I should stay overnight in Murodo. Would you recommend a one night stay in Murodo? Is there anything to do? I've understood that it's not possible to hike to Mt. Tateyama in April.
