Chubu airport to central nagoya by taxi?

We are a group of 4 persons. From Chubu airport, we are heading to Takayama.
Is it more economical to take a taxi from the airport to Central Nagoya, and then catch a train to Takayama?

Taxi from centrair to say nagoya station is never cheap. Cheapest is always train or bus. For the way from nagoya to takayama, 2 options: bus or train.
For local Takayama train from JR nagoya to Takayama stations, price is JPY 2270. Wide View Hida (if you have time) is JPY 2270 plus limited express fare. Check Hyperdia.
For the bus, check Meitetsu or Nohi Bus website. I think the cost is less than JPY 3000. Again, you will only ride them if your time permits you to do so.

Taxi : around 14000-15000Y(depends on traffic) until Nagoya stn.
included sales tax 8% and toll road fee.
In Japan no need tipping for a taxi driver.
No IDP? (car rent)
