Kyoto Sightseeing Pass Card 2016/12/13 14:39
We are going to Kyoto on 29 Dec 2016..
We would like to get a pass or something, so we can reducing our transportation costs..

I did a research, and found this Pass :
Kyoto Bus and Subway Passes
Kyoto Sightseeing One – and Two-day Pass Card

All-day Pass Adult \1,200 / Child \600
Two-day Pass Adult \2,000 / Child \1,000
Can be used for the city buses and subways.
Unlimited use for one or two days.

Anyone knows, does this card can be used at anywhere?
We are going to Sagano Bamboo Road (嵯峨野 竹林の道) and Tenryu-ji (天龍寺)..

Or is there another better pass?

Thank You..
Looking forward for answer :))

Kyoto Station to Saga-Arashiyama Station via JR Sagano Line is only 240 yen, one way. Then 15 minutes walk to Tenryuji Temple.

In connection with MSi, what will matter is your starting point and your next destination after visiting those 2.

Please mind that the buses in Kyoto are the least recommended way of transportaion - they are too, unbearably slow. You should use local trains, subway and taxis whenever possible. Arashiayma is very convenient accessible by train. I personally never use bus passes as they mean a waste of time alaways.

I found the Kyoto City Bus One-day Pass (500 yen) to be very useful and economical. It is true that buses are not on time, especially during commute periods. But that is true of any big city. Unless you are going to a job interview or something, tourists don't care about being punctual. If you need to catch a specific Shinkansen, then catch an earlier bus and have some margin.

In addition to bus rides (there are few limitations, like the pass does not cover going to Kibune area of Kyoto), it offers 10% discounts at aquarium and railroad museum.
