Hiroshima - Okunoshima West Rail Pass

Am planing on going to Okunoshima via. Tadnoumi port and buying the JR Sanya West Rail Pass.
Having a look on google, it appears the quickest way is to go to Mihara on the shinkansen and then train to Tadnoumi.
Will by JR west railpass cover the trip or will I need to pay more and can I get any shinkansen to Tadoumi or do I have to wait for specific ones?

Sanyo-San'in and Kansai-Hiroshima both cover the rail lines you want to travel on.
