Hokkaido Trip on May 2017

Hello, good day to everyone.
I am planning to travel to Hokkaido on Mid May, after a few research here and there, here is my Itinerary:
D1: Arrive Sapporo
D2: Sapporo and a half-day trip to Otaru
D3: Will probably find a car rent with Driver for a day trip to Eastern Hokkaido for the Shiba-zakura OR find a 1 Day Tour from the Yokoso Japan website. Any other source for this tour?
D4: Sapporo - Noboribetsu, tour around and overnight there. Or is it better to overnight at Lake Toya?
D5: Noboribetsu - Sapporo - I do not know what other place to visit, any recommendation?
D6: Departure from Sapporo
Furano/Biei, is it worth visit on May? Because I have read that there is not much to see over there on May as the Lavender is not in the season yet.
I am interested in visiting Asahiyama Zoo in Asahikawa but because I am travelling with my parents I am afraid they will find it not good or boring.
Please help advise my Itinerary :)
