hi
i would like to know is it possible to exchange the JR Pass on behalf of my sons by showing their photocopy of their passport ?
i would be in Hokkaido 3 days ahead of them , just wondering is it possible to exchange the JR Pass without their passport .

You need the 'Temporary Visitor ' sticker in their passport to be able to exchange the voucher for the JR pass, and if they haven't arrived yet in Japan they won't have that yet.
