Ashikaga Fuji Matsuri Train 2017/3/5 16:48
Hi all

I would like to know whether the special train direct to Tomita Station which is Ashikaga Fuji Matsuri 3 is covered by JR Tokyo Wide Pass?
I will be boarding it from Yokohama station.

Pass covered but this train cars all reaserved seat only,
so need "Reserved seat ticket".(if sold out you cannot take)
Reserved seat ticket sales starts one month before 10:00 am
at Ticket office of JR stn(not only in Yokohama) also at Travel Service Center of JR-East.
(No online sales for out of Japan)
However,Pass holder is free show yr pass when purchasing.
(No pass traveler have to pay 540Y/oneway)

Train name is 快速足利藤まつり 3号(Kaisoku Ashikaga Matsuri 3/San-gou).
快速/Kaisoku means "Rapid" not "Express".
号/gou is one of suffix for numbering/counting.

Timetable :
http://www.jreast-timetable.jp/1703/train/160/163701.html
横浜 : Yokohama (No.10 platform)
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/stations/e1638.html
東京 : Tokyo
大宮 : Omiya
小山 : Oyama
富田 : Tomita (Not Last stop)
桐生 : Kiryuu (Last stop)
Train operating/maneged number/列車番号 will change for JR Ryomo line 9543M to 9446M fr Oyama
but no need transfering at Oyama just for reasons of operating management.
("M" means Motor = Electlic car train, "9xxx" numbers for seasonal train)

If sold out need 1 or 2 times transfering
at Tokyo(or Omiya via Shinjuku)
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/stations/e1039.html
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/stations/e350.html
for taking Tohoku Shinkansen(Pass covered) until Oyama
and Oyama for Ryomo line.
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/stations/e401.html
Regular commuer trains(Rapid/Local = all stn stop) operating until Oyama fr Yokohama via Shinjuku/Tokyo both side route a lot.

(Tokyo side : Tokaido main line)

Thanks for your detail info! Such a great help :)
One more thing. Can I buy the tokyo wide pass on behalf for my friend & book the ticket one month ahead?
Because, I am currently working in Japan & my friend is only coming over in mid april. I am just afraid that the seats might get sold out...
