Shibori, stencil workshop in Kyushu 2017/3/19 16:08
I will be in the Kyushu region from April 30 till May 6. I have attended a workshop indigo by Aboubakar Foufane. I would like to learn more. Who can help me find places for workshops?

Kyushu is a large area. Which part of Kyushu will you be? And are you looking for a beginner's level workshop, or a more experienced level?

From April 20-30 I am in de neighbourhood of Oita, but I have a Japan railpass so I can travel easily. I will be a beginner at Shibori, but I learn quick. I am a teacher of textiles and want to learn as much as possible in the time I have.

In Yufuin, Oita Prefecture, I found below:

You will need to translate. Looks interesting. It's a crafts studio/museum village. I did not know such place existed in Yufuin. They have studios for ceramics, glass work, woodwork, indigo dye, etc.

Thank you so much for this information. I will look into it. Still I am looking for more places where I can learn about textiles.

In Fukuoka, check below places. The first website includes a workshop in Umeda (Osaka), scroll down for the Fukuoka workshop. The second place may require a car to access.
