Information on rugby union in Japan

Could anyone tell me where I can find out about Japanese rugby union teams and where/when fixtures for next season will be posted? Travelling to Japan in late Sept/ early Oct with rugby mad husband and son and would love to be able to see a game. Thanks.

The rugby union league in Japan is called "Top League". Their 2017-2018 rugby season begins on August 18, the final is January 14 2018. They have an English guide site but not frequently updated. http://en.rugby-japan.jp/schedule/topleague/The rugby schedule and fixtures are not yet to be announced. I could post as it is announced here later.

Many thanks for that information. I would appreciate an update when the fixtures are available - even if in Japanese as I could try to work out with Google translate! It looks like there are regularly matches on both Saturday and Sunday - is this correct? Will be looking for a stadium within,say, an hours travel of either Tokyo or Kyoto so which teams should I be looking out for? Thanks again.

Top League matches are played on Friday night(19:30 - ), Saturday afternoon and evening(13:00, 14:00 or 14:30, and 18:00 or 19:00 -) and Sunday afternoon(13:00 or 14:00 - ). If you are in Kyoto, "Nishikyogoku Athletic Stadium" will be the venue. http://en.rugby-japan.jp/guide/map/detail/71/If you are in Tokyo, "Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Ground" will be the venue. http://en.rugby-japan.jp/guide/map/detail/18/Both venues are good public transport access. The following venues are often used for Top League matches, but, they are not good public transport access. Check the venue and address before you make your itinerary.
