Ifm arriving at Fuji on October. As far as I know, the mountain is closed for climbing to the summit from all 5st stations. So I want to climb the Yoshida Trail from stations 1-5. I will have a JR pass and I want to know if there is a JR station near the 1st station of Yoshida trail. If not, then what would you suggest I should do in order to climb the mountain? If the other trails' 1st station has a JR station so maybe Ifll start my climb on the other trail.

You can go to the first station of Yoshida trail from Fujikyu-railway Fujisan station by taxi to "Uma-gaeshi". You can not use JR Pass to visit there because of Fujikyu-railway.
If you want to use JR Pass, JR Fujisan-guchi station(formerly Shin-Fuji station) is the only accessible station, but I don't think there is an accessible first station of trail from JR Fujisan-guchi station. Mt Fuji is not an easy access mountain by public transports except summer season(Jul-Sep). It also stats to get snow fall early October.

Just curious, how was your trip? Did you use the taxi from the train to umagaeshi? How were you able to get back to the train station when you came down the mountain?
