Thats scary, i used the test function for the easy japanese vocabulary, i noticed Hirugohan is written with 3 kanjis, while Genki is written with 2 Kanjis and Hiragana in the middle, another textbook i think even writes it with only 1 Kanji if i remember correcy.
Wich one is the official way to write it?

昼ごはん is the most general one. 昼御飯 is rarely used. 昼ごはん, 昼ご飯 and 昼御飯 have 3 different nuances and that's the interesting and deep point of this language.
