Best route from Midagahara to Mitaka by 4 PM

Hi Every one, We are travelling to Japan this July. We finally got tickets to Ghibli museum in Mitaka for 4 PM -only avilable tickets and my two girls would do anything not to miss that. We would be at Midagahara Lodge the night of 13th July and would like to finish our Alpine trip towards Ogizawa. If we hurry up in the morning of 14th, what would be the quickest route to Mitaka to reach there around 3 to 3.30 in evening ? Would appriciate any suggestions reccomedations. Thank you.

As you will see, it takes about 3 hours from Midagahara to Shinano-Omachi, while it takes about 2.5 hours from Midagahara to Dentetsu Toyama (close to JR Toyama).

From Shinano-Omachi it takes about 4 hours to Mitaka.

If you want to go through the Alpine route to Shinano-Omachi, you must be at Shinano-Omachi by 11:33.

Or you might better consider going to Nagano and then take Shinkansen.
