New steam train running on Tobu Kinugawa Line 2017/8/16 09:45
We plan to visit Nikko September 16 (Saturday). If you could direct me to any dedicated website for the newly inaugurated steam-hauled service, I'm really wondering about the timetables. I would like to reserve but not exactly sure how to go about doing it.

Also, since the Tobu Kingawa Line is covered by JR East Nagano Niigata Area Pass, I really wonder if one could take this joyful train at no additional cost.

Calendar, timetable, and fees: http://www.tobu.co.jp/sl/information/guide/

Note that the base fare is due separately. It is unclear if a JR East pass will cover the base fare; it will certainly not cover the additional fee.

Book online, by phone, at Tobu stations, or through travel agents. http://www.tobu.co.jp/sl/information/ticket/

Thank you Firas for pointing me in the right direction.

Those links will do it for me. I'll book online and pick up tickets at Tobu Tours office. However, I'll still have to hold off booking for about a week, since on the website it says that you need to collect tickets within a week of booking them.

There are only 3 round trips per day for Taiju. Looking at the availability, the most popular service is easily the 1pm outbound. It's already booked solid 1 month in advance. Though judging by previous Saturdays, I shouldn't have a problem securing reservations for the earlier service in the morning.
