Where can I find Birria Tacos in Japan? 2021/8/12 17:22
The Birria / Quesabirria Taco boom is in full swing in Hawaii and California. It's delicious!
I've tried to find in restaurants here in Japan and even tried to find packaged seasoning to make it myself with no luck.
The recipes online include ingredients like chili peppers that are super hard to source in Japan as well like Guajillo peppers or Ancho peppers.

Does anyone know how I get get my hands on a Birria Taco in Japan?

Google can explain better what Birria is but this 1 picture of a Birria Taco from La Birria in Hawaii started the hunt for this delicious food for me.

They even have a whole episode about Birria on season 2 of Netflix's Taco Chronicles.
I even flew to Hawaii to to eat at La Birria. Delicious.

But I just cant find it in Japan.

Some things that are popular in Hawaii have not made it to Japan … considering that Mexican food is generally not that popular here, it might not catch on in Japan.

I'm not sure if these are exactly what you're looking for, but this Australian café in Minami-Gyotoku (next to Urayasu) has just added them to their menu.
