How to go shirahone onsen from hirayu onsen

Hi I’ll be going to hirayu onsen at the end of March then would like to go from hirayu onsen to shirahone onsen but don’t seem to be able to find transport from hirayu to shirahone, any advice and help please

Bus service to Shirahone is very infrequent. A rental car would make getting around much easier.

For experienced drivers, it is no problem to drive in the region, except during winter when there is snow and winter driving skills are required.

But for unexperienced drivers it is not the easiest part of Japan to drive, because the road is very curvy and quite narrow in some passages. Again: no problem for experienced drivers, but on the less easy roads for beginners.

Hi fukuji and hirayu onsen is different places? Most probably traveling on 24/3/2023 to shirahone onsen from there would there be any road closure if I chose to self drive and how far would the distance be? Thanks for the help and guidance

Fukuji Onsen and Hirayu Onsen are different places.
Fukuji Onsen is located on the north side of Hirayu Onsen (about 10 minutes by car).
When I looked at the website of the inn in Fukuji Onsen, it was written that if you come by car in winter (November to March), please be sure to carry tire chains.
To Fukuji Onsen and Hirayu Onsen, please use the Nohi Bus Shinhotaka Line.

It seems that there are buses that pass through the Fukuji Onsen （福地温泉）bus stop and buses that do not (passes through the Fukuji Onsen-guchi（福地温泉口） bus stop, etc.).
The nearest bus stop may differ depending on the inn, so please check the access method on the inn's website.
As far as I could see, the location of the bus stop was confirmed on Google Maps.

The roads freeze in winter, so if you've never driven on icy roads, it's best not to.
