Tohoku indoor activities 2023/4/8 10:15
I'm going to be based in Morioka next weekend and it looks like there will be some rain and clouds coming into the region, particularly on the 16th though I know it can change. If the rain is heavy enough to ruin my plans, I'm wondering what indoor activities might be recommended? I have a rail pass so could head to the Nebuta museum in Aomori for instance. I'm looking for other ideas.

In Morioka, I only remember going to Kogensya.

Wanko soba and Morioka rei-men are famous, so it's a good idea to try them.

I like the Towada City Museum of Contemporary Art, although it's a little far away.
There is a bus from Shichinohe Towada Station.

Kanchogai Street in front of the Towada Art Center is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.

I couldn't go, but I wanted to visit the facility of Nanbu Sakiori.

In Hachinohe, I liked Hacchi.

There seems to be a Machiniwa on the opposite side.

I haven't been there, but the locals said that Hasshoku Center is good.

Chusonji and Motsuji in Hiraizumi were also nice, though not outdoors. I also went to Takkoku no Iwaya and Genbikei.

In Hachinohe, I am also interested in the Korekawa Jomon Museum.
It seems that there are also exhibits excavated from the remains of the World Heritage Site.
I'd like to see the gassho clay figurines, but access seems inconvenient.

In Morioka, I would also like to visit Sawaya Bookstore in Fezan.
(This store is known nationwide for book lovers.)

It might be a good idea to go to a Nambu Tekki shop.

Morioka History and Culture Museum may also be good.

There seems to be Morioka Handmade Village in Tsunagi Onsen.
