When i purchase a high priced item at KIX duty free, Using my charge card they ask if I want to use US dollar or yen. What is best to say?

if you are talking about a situation where you are a traveler from the USA, you have a US-based credit card, you shop in Japan (where prices are quoted in Yen), and the store clerk asks you if you want them to run the card transaction in Yen or in US dollars, then it is usually better to say gYen.h

The reason is that if you answer gUS dollars,h the merchant will charge a conversion fee from Yen to US dollar at the time of transaction. It is usually better to pay in the local currency and let your credit card issuer do the conversion for you (who charges a fee, which, as far as I know, is usually smaller than the merchantfs fee).
