Hi
The new banknotes will be released in july 2024. What will happen with the current banknotes ? Could we use it till the end of 2024 ?
I am not living in Japan and I have few 10f000 banknotes at home. I plan to visit Japan in October 2024. Do you think Ifll be able to pay with the « old » banknotes ?

Even old bank notes from 1946 are still valid. Your current stash of notes are not about to be rendered unusable any time soon.
I have a 100 yen note somewhere, and while I might not be able to use it in a store, I could cash it at a bank if I wanted. I have some series D 1000 yen notes from the early 1980's that was given a while back - more collectors items these days.
