Vegetarian ryokan in Hakone 2024/2/25 18:11
I called few ryokans in Hakone. I could not find any who would accommodate vegetarian meals. Few of them have fish flakes which they say they can't take off. Kanurio says veg on their website but they confirmed fish/bonito flakes. I couldn't get a reply from few others.
I have looked in the forum some but if anybody actually had experience with a particular rayokan with veg food please advise.

Thanks!

Vegetarian grestaurantsh might be yet easier to find. In ryokan, their traditional cooking, would most definitely use fish stock.

I'm afraid I don't have time to find one in Hakone, but I Googled "shojinryori ryokan hakone" and found a ryokan not in Hakone but in Kamakura that hopefully accommodate vegans.

You may want to do your own search on "shojin cuisine" or "zen-dera" accommodation.
