Hachinohe to Kyoto

I am looking for some help here to book train tickets between Hachinohe in the north JR East and Kyoto in the JR West section. I cant find the option to buy a ticket connecting the cities.
Do I have to book individual tickets to and from Tokyo? Would a transfer at Tokyo station in 15 minutes be possible?

On the official JR websites it seems to be impossible in English. You could buy separate tickets and use the JR East website for Hachinohe-Tokyo and SmartEX for Tokyo-Kyoto, but you would pay more for the base fare ticket. I recommend to purchase it at any JR station once you arrive in Japan.

15 min for the transfer is possible but a bit tight. As there are so many Nozomi trains I would take bit more time. 20 min should be okay.
That said for people who know the station well10 min would be sufficient
