Hokuriku arch pass to Otsu

Does the "hokuriku arch pass" is valid for train between Shin-Osaka & Otsu region with JR Local Trains ? I want to discover the Biwa Lake Region before going to Kanazawa !

Yes, it covers the local trains between Osaka, Kyoto and Otsu. And it covers the local trains on both sides of Lake Biwa. A coverage map can be viewed here:

If you are gonna do the Ostu temple run. It won't be JR trains. It's a private railway. Transfer a Otsukyo, Zeze or Ishiyama. It was 700-800 yen for a daily pass last time I was there.
