Pre paid sim card for phone calls 2024/4/19 02:43
Hi

Is it possible to get pre paid sim cards to make phone calls?
I am coming across data only options on internet.

Please advise.

You know you can literally look on amazon and find pre-paid sim cards with a phone number. I don't get why people don't know how to do a simple google search or look online.

Generally, under the local law, you need to be a resident to get a phone number and to be able to make voice calls. That is why most sims are data only. There are a few exceptions.

When I am in Japan (or even Europe or elsewhere), which I am in right now, I use LINE for making voice and video calls with my data-only e-SIM.

LINE is used by many/most Japanese as a means of communication, I communicate with my friends and relatives here that way.

It does not require a voice line only data service or a wifi connection. It is free to use. You can text and send pictures and video etc. Easy to use for everyone who is used to a smartphone.

My family back in the USA are communicating with me here over LINE with no issues.

Just a suggestion.
