New Year's Countdown with Fireworks 2009/9/20 15:17
Hi, I'll be in Japan over the 2009-2010 New Year period and was wondering if there are any large countdown events in the major cities on the night of new year's eve.

Specifically, we'll be in Nagoya or Kyoto during that time, and we would like to see new year's fireworks and such. Will probably be skipping those ceremonies in temples because we want to see the new year ushered in with a bang and fireworks.

Anyone knows of any big countdown events in Nagoya or Kyoto with fireworks worth going to?

Thanks for your reply - do you have any website where I can check this out? Did a search and couldn't find anything on that. Japanese/English websites both fine. Thanks!
