Nakatsugawa to Gero by bus?

Is there a way to reach Gero from Nakatsugawa station by bus?. The Nohi buses don't show that route in any of their options, at least in english.
I guess another option is to continue from Nakatsugawa to Nagoya and from there to Gero, but I guess it is going to be more time consuming, right?
Thanks for the advise!!!

There used to be a direct bus line, but now a transfer of buses is necessary along the way at 加子母総合事務所前. Most buses have good connections (about 5 per day).

My initial intention was to get to Takayama, so the buses that you mention going from Nakatsugawa to Takayana are just perfect!
Thanks!!!

Nakatsugawa to Takayama by bus

I checked the website as recommended: http://www.rosenzu.com/kitaena/tsukechi.htmlHow is it possible to reach Takayama from Nakatsugawa in 20mins? Unless I read or interpreted the table wrongly, I would like to know how to travel from Nakatsugawa to Takayama by bus as well. I know it is possible to take a bus from Nakatsugawa to Gero (and then tx to a train to Takayama), but I would like to know if there is a direct bus to Takayama (instead of downtracking to Nagoya and then taking Nohi bus up again to Takayama) Rgds

Wow! I think I understood wrong too!!!.
I am in the exact position as you Subbiesub.I want to take a bus from Nakatsugawa to Gero and then going by train to Takayama city (the one close to Hida no sato). It would be great not to downtrack to Nagoya. Maybe there is an option to get directly by bus from Nakatsugawa to Takayama, please any help will be appreciated.

The bus route is explained further up the thread. Another possible route is by train via Tajimi and Mino-Ota, which is usually a little bit faster than going via Nagoya.
