(Answer)Forget your social life, because the only thing that will help you is hours and hours of studying.
The intense studying that Japanese students have to do is one of the main reasons why Japan has the 7th highest teen suicide rate, and the 9th overall suicide rate, on Earth.
+++++ If you really want to go to Japan, i suggest starting off by getting good grades in High School in the USA, by the time you are 16 or 17, if you have a B average, most community colleges will let you take classes with them, that not only count for high school credit, but also college credit at the same time.
(so instead of taking Sophmore English in high school, you take it at the comm. college, and you knock out your Soph. Eng. class, for your HS, and a general english class for that college at the same time.)
While your at that comm. college, you can probably find a good Intro. to Japanese class, and later, when you graduate HS, you can use college scholarships and grants to pay for study abroad programs offered by your college.
