Any KidZania experience to share? 2010/6/13 03:24
Hi,

We chance upon the KidZania website and are really interested to sign my 2 boys (6 & 4 YO) up for the experience. Would appreciate if there are any English speakers who have been there and can share their experience:

1) Are there English speaking guides who can help the children along?
2) Noticed the shifts stretch past meal times. Is there food for the kids when they are 'on shift'?
3) Any nearby shopping/activities for parents in the vicinity while the kids are at KidZania?
4) How do we get there from Disney Resort?

MamaSue,

Can't answer your first questions...

3) Any nearby shopping/activities for parents in the vicinity while the kids are at KidZania?

Tokyo Kidzania is in the middle of the Urban Dock Lalaport shopping mall. It wouldn't be too difficult to spend a whole day there and not get bored.

4) How do we get there from Disney Resort?

Lalaport is next to Toyosu Station on the Yurakucho Line. From TDR (Maihama Station) you need to get a Tokyo-bound Keiyo Line train and change at Shinkiba Station

Come enjoy KidZania Tokyo! 2010/6/14 11:09
Dear MamaSue,

You won't be disappointed if you bring your kids to KidZania Tokyo! Here are responses to your questions:
1) While the activities are done primarily in Japanese, all staff speak at least a little English and so non-Japanese kids have no problem enjoying the park.
2) Several of the activities in the park involve making food that the kids get to eat when they are finished, and none of these cost extra. There are also three places to buy food using Japanese yen for adults or kids who are not interested in doing the food activities.
3) As Dave in Saitama indicated above, KidZania is located inside the Toyosu Urban Dock LaLaport shopping mall, so it is possible to go shopping while your kids are enjoying KidZania. However, as you have one young child (under elementary school age), at least one adult will have to stay in the park the whole time. Inside the park we also have a parents' lounge, with free access to internet, English newspaper, and drink service.
4) Take the Keiyo Line from Maihama Station to Shin-kiba Station and change to the Yurakucho Line. Take this to Toyosu Station (about 15 min total). KidZania is about a 10 minute walk from Toyosu station, leaving through Exit 2 and going to the far end of the 3rd floor of LaLaport.

Enjoy your visit!
