Are you referring to Kumamoto in Kyusyu?
It takes 1hr 20 min by air from Nagoya to Kumamoto. If you intend to use trains, it takes roughly 5 hrs from Nagoya to Kumamoto via Hakata.

You'll probably find this website useful for planning any travel within Japan - it includes all domestic train and air routes: http://www.jorudan.co.jp/english/norikae/It gives 6 hours as the total travel time from Nagoya airport to Kumamoto (though Nagoya has another airport - check at which one you are arriving). The fare is 20,500 yen - but that website gives an air route that is only 18,990 yen.

The easiest,quickest & cheapest is to fly from Chubu International Airport(this is your landing, correct?) to Aso Kumamoto airport by ANA as the Star Alliance flight domestic flight extension added to your international flight~10,000yen. There are other ways. You can check with www.hyperdia.com Input "chubu international airport" as the origination & "kumamoto" as the destination. Increase the no. of output to 10, if you wish. Never mind the flight fare cost. You can use the above or the air pass below. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2364.htmlAlso there are highway buses but maybe too long of a ride.
