Kurokawa - lodging 2010/6/22 15:09
Any personal recommendations on a nice place to stay for 3 or 4 nights in Kurokawa, Kyushu?

Hotel, ryokan, anything will be accepted as long as it is a great place to stay.

Good choice to go to Kurokawa Onsen!!! 2010/6/22 20:32
I loved Kurokawa Onsen!!! We stayed at the Sanga Ryokan, which is reasonably prized (around 16.000 Yen) and it's lovely. It is a bit on the edge of the village though...(www.sanga-ryokan.com). During the day we took a bath at the Ikoi Ryokan, which is also nice. It is in the middle of town, so everathing is withing walking distance, especially if you liek to stroll around in your Yukata and check out different ryokans for a bath....also not too expensive.
if you can read a bit of Japanese this page might be useful for you: http://www.kurokawaonsen.or.jp/oyado/index.php, it is a list of all Kurokawa Ryokans.
Enjoy!

3 or 4 nights? That is a long stay! People usually stay one or at most two nights in Kurokawa.

I personally liked both places I stayed at so far, especially the Noshi yu:

As for the baths, the best ones are outside of town (where there is space for large sized baths and views without being viewed). A list of the best is here:
