We are looking for a good budget Guesthouse in the Kiso area for around Y8000 person (pref.inc. meals) for a day in September.
We stayed at Magomechaya previously and somewhere different would be nice this time.

Fujioto in Tsumago is the pick for mine.
Might end up at the upper end of your budget but food and congenial host are worth the extra.

At Fujioto, be sure to ask for the corner room upstairs with 2 windows, it's the best room. We had baby bees for dinner--a local delicacy, about 4 summers ago. You have to share bathrooms though no matter which room you stay in.
