Getting from Kansai Airport to Kyoto station using the Kansai Thru Pass involves a number of changes, as only private railways can be used.
Also, if you are going to a hotel, it might be that it is nearer to a private railway station than to JR Kyoto station. What is your final destination in Kyoto?

Thanks, RobBeer. My Ryokan is near by Kyoto station. I was thinking to visit Kyoto Imperial Palace and Hian Shrine after that. I would like to known how long it take to reach Kyoto Station?

KIX to Kyoto station requres at least 3 tranfers and 2 hours by Kansai Thru Pass.
I'd use JR West Pass(2000yen) for direct JR Haruka Express train.
