Sakurajima JR bus

We are going to Kagoshima in early Nov. I had information from somewhere, I don't remember that there is JR bus leaving Sakurajima ferry terminal to Arimura lookou.
My questions are
1. Does this JR bus still in serviced and is covered by JR pass.
2 Where can I find the bus schedule?

I doubt that it is covered by the Japan Rail Pass, but I am not sure.

This is from a 2009 Lonely Planet Japan guide. I would check once you get to Kagoshima that the JR bus does still operate. If it does your JR pass should cover it.
