Super Hakucho/ Hakucho- JR east pass

Hi
We are hiring a car to drive around in Hokkaido and then buy a JR east pass for travelling to Nikko and Hakone.
I am a little confused as to whehter Super Hakucho and the Hakucho which operates from Hakodate to Hachinohe are covered by JR east pass.
If this part is not covered, what surcharge do I have to pay?
